Trimble’s Drill of the Week- Flank Game
Great Small area game for U12 and older that focuses on Decision making, vision, puck skills, in a power play type scenario.
- Two teams of players, Zone is set up cross ice with nets at each end.
- 2 on 2 that evolves in a 4 v2 PP/PK scenario
- Each team has 2 players that must be on their end of the ice (cant go across to other half of the zone) and also cant go inside the face off circle.
- On the whistle puck comes out, and 2 new players from each team compete for the loose puck. These players can go anywhere on the ice.
- Once the puck is advanced into a half of the ice the game becomes a 4 v 2 with the added offensive end players involved.
- Play for about 30 seconds to 45 seconds before a whistle blows and new players are involved.
