Trimble’s Drill of the Week

2 Small Area Games for the U14 or Bantam Levels

Neutral Zone Communication Game

Each team lined up on each blueline.  Coach with pucks.  Games played 3v3.  Players on the blueline need to pay attention as they are actively involved in the game.  To score, players must pass to a player on their own team/blueline and receive it back before shooting.  Get open, find space, call for the puck.

Hi/Low Game

2 nets facing the same direction with goalie in each net. Coaches at the half-wall and players lined up outside the zone.  Whistle and loose puck goes behind the net.  3 v3 or 4v4. Players once they get the puck need to pass to a coach to be on offense.  Teams on offense can score on either net, so they need to get open and find space.  Defenders need to track and stay on the d-side of offensive players.
