Trimble’s Drill of Week- Simple PowerSkating Drill that Enhances Balance and Posture
Incorporating a Knee Drop (with either one or two legs) enhances edge & glide, balance, posture and much more. A kids mechanics will really be revealed (positive or negative) by isolating and performing a 1 knee drop. Here are some variations:
- Foreward stride to Right Side only knee drop
- Foreward stride to Left Side only knee drop
- Foreward stride to Alternating Side knee drops
- Backward C- Cut to Right side only knee drop
- Backward C- Cut to Left side only knee drop
- Backward C- Cut to Alternating side only knee drop
- Foreward to Backwards L/R only knee drops
- Foreward to Backwards Alternating side only knee drops
Incorporating some of these variations in your next power skating session and articulate the importance of Knee Bend, Upper Body Posture, Stick Control, and much more to your athletes.
