Minnesota 1 v 1 Drill
Great for basic skills like defensemans footwork and forwards change of speed.
- Defenseman in the middle and forwards below the circles. Pucks in the middle.
- On the whistle, first defenseman will step out backwards and receive a pass from the 2nd defenseman.
- The pass receiver will open up and give a long pass to the far forward below the circles- activating the attacking forward in a 1 on 1 situation. D should gap up after the pass to inside the blueline.
- D will keep a good gap with the forward skating up the ice, then circling back from the red line to the blueline and back- D’s will have to transition their feet, keep their stick on the ice, close the gap , and keep inside positioning.
- Crossing the red, the forward will attempt to score and the defenseman will defend, completing the 1 v1 rush.
