Trimble’s Drill of the Week

Neutral Zone 4 Line Warmup- Roundabout Passing

Lot of Variations you can do off this set up, and this is one of the most basic.

I usually do this drill right at the beginning of practice to get everyone moving and goalies to feel the puck early in a practice session.

  • 4 Lines at the Bluelines (Goalies in the crease)
  • On the whistle opposite diagonal lines begin moving up the ice with their puck and pass to the line that they are facing (quick give n go)
  • Then player with puck will cross the blueline and give a long pass to the player on opposite blueline before getting it back
  • A third pass occurs when the player with puck will begin again to head up ice and give a pass to the next line, before receiving the pass and shooting on the net on the same end that they start.
  • Practice Good Habits- Flat passes, calling for the puck, setting a good target, keeping your eyes up, and stopping on the net.

Enjoy
