Welp… they really did it this time. Junior Hockey Fake News(www.thejuniorhockeynews.com) is at it again. This time they resorted to calling a bunch of teenage hockey players “idiots”. Here is the article TJHN posted.
TJHN – Weak Links. The number one weak link in the return to playing hockey is interaction with the public. Billet families, fans, and anyone on the street could be an A-symptomatic COVID-19 carrier.
The second weakest link are the players and staff.
When players and staff interact with the public they run the risk of infecting everyone else.
The players of six OJHL teams took things upon themselves to go out and party the other night. Yes, like teenage idiots, they went to parties and are now COVID-19 positive.
Players have now put the whole return to play plan of the OJHL and possibly all of Ontario at risk because of their stupidity.
It is a simple thing to control yourself. It is a simple thing to wear a mask and social distance in order to have a hockey season.
Going out and partying and exposing yourself and your teammates, coaches and billet family is the most selfish and thoughtless behavior any junior hockey player can have. Selfish, and down right stupid.
When the world of junior hoceky is trying to return to play its idiots like this that risk everything for everyone. Each one of these players should now be removed from their team and supsended for the season in my opinion.
Good luck to the SIJHL, NOJHL, OJHL, and CCHL. With players like this, you need all the help you can get.
Joseph Kolodziej – Adviser
Just like in the past, leave it up to TJHN to not use any facts or sources to report this. In my opinion it is irresponsible journalism. Now on top of that, Joe decided to call a bunch of teenage junior hockey players “idiots”, what an absolute loser. People took to twitter, even someone directly tied into the OJHL, to take it up with Joe and point out the falsehood of this article.
We all have been retested and no positive cases on our team. So before you write articles do your DD and get your facts straight. This is how rumours start my friend.

Mike, Head Equipment Manager for the Burlington Cougars, points out that all the players on his team were retested and had 0 positive cases. So there is already proof that part of this article, if not the entirety of it, is dead wrong. Absolutely crazy that anyone reads this site anymore. Here is some more action from twitter.

Then we got Jeff here with the haymaker and pointing out that maybe someone that has a pretty sketchy criminal background shouldn’t be creating Fake News and calling teenagers idiots, just sayin.
At the end of the day, most people know that TJHN writes fake news and and made up stories to get people interested. Consistently writing about the “bad” side of Junior Hockey and writing countless fake stories that end up hurting the game of hockey and putting the Junior Hockey world in a bad light.
You should get your facts straight before calling kids idiots. For one it wasn't 6 teams who's kids went to a party. I work for one of these teams and no one from our team went to a party. We had a player who worked out at a gym where one of the positive cases was working out

Mike, again, just absolutely shuts this story down. Nobody from the Burlington Cougars, according to Mike, went to a party. TJHN, please report honestly, all you are doing is hurting the game of hockey. Either get the story straight and have facts/sources to back up your writing, or stop. Easy as that.
Funny how the TJHN bio on Twitter is “The place for real, in depth, and accurate information”. Sort of comedic if you ask me. Not only are they inaccurate, I have yet to read an “in depth” article from The Junior Hockey News.
