Alright, so we all know the NHL has recently released all 32 NHL Reverse Retro Jersey’s and at first glance there are some daggers, but… there are also some butt ugly sweaters that make you scratch your head in disbelief that a team of designers really thought they had something special.
So, with that being said I decided that everyone needed my opinion on these jerseys so I put in my blood, sweat, and tears to determine the 5 WORST NHL reverse retro jerseys. Here is your official “bottom 5” ranking that everyone can use when debating friends, teammates, and the guy at the local coffee shop. You’re welcome.
The ranking goes 1-5 with #1 being the worst.
#5 – Philadelphia Flyers
The reason this one is in my bottom 5 is that the jerseys are so basic. I think the flyers could have done better. HOWEVER… the fact they incorporated the cooperalls into the uniform is awesome. It’s hard to not have them in the bottom 5 with those basic jersey’s, but like I said the cooperalls is a great touch. They will be wearing the cooperalls in warmups only, would have been sick if they wore them during the game as well as the cooperalls definitely bring the whole thing together. So I hate to rank them this low and as I write this I am already regretting it, but deal with it.
#4 – Buffalo Sabres
Buffalo, just can’t do anything right… Once again a team that just went so basic and a jersey that I wouldn’t haven’t realized was anything special or a part of a “reverse retro” series. No effort was given and that’s all I have to say, it’s bad and I hate it.
#3 – Chicago Blackhawks
Sucks to suck… amirite? It’s just ugly, plain and simple. As we like to say it’s “not it”. Whatever “it” is, this is not. Chicago sucks, the Blackhawks suck, and now their reverse retro jerseys suck.
#2 – Detroit Red Wings
Laughable. Dispicable. Ew. That’s all that is to be said. These are awful and in my opinion the worst. The only reason they didn’t get ranked the worst is because of Toronto. I have nothing good to say about this so I will keep it short and sweet. AWFUL.
#1 – Toronto Maple Leafs
I mean… try harder or even just try a little bit Toronto. This is probably the one that actually annoyed me and made me speechless. This has to be the worst “reverse retro” jersey. No question. It’s not even the ugliest, it’s just that no effort was given. You could have shown me that and I would have thought that was their standard jersey. F- for Toronto and people should lose jobs. Awful.
