The North American Hockey League (NAHL) has announced today that it will add Wichita Falls, Texas, as its 27th franchise, to being play for the 2020-21 season.
According to the NAHL, the team will be owned by Robbie Hockey LLC, an entity owned and operated by Mary Anne Choi. The yet-to-be-named team will play out of the Kay Yeager Coliseum. There will be a fan-based team-naming contest in the next few months.
Wichita Falls previously had a team in the NAHL from 2003-17 (Rustlers and Wildcats), but ceased operations after the former Wildcats owners could not find a buyer.
Wichita Falls was a city involved in last year’s USA Central Hockey League that folded after a handful of games.
