Masked Men Of The USPHL’s Mountain Division

Masked Men Of The USPHL’s Mountain Division - The Hockey Focus

IDAHO FALLS SPUD KINGS

Jude Ayling (.876) 2003 – London, GBR: Ayling is in his first year of USPHL Premier action, but was no stranger to the USPHL or then Head Coach Josh Hoff, having played for Coach Hoff the previous year at the Hoosac School and played in the USPHL U18 with the Islanders HC in the season cut short by the pandemic – Ayling has multiple October saves featured at the @PHHOffical on Twitter / @pigeonhole_hockey on Instagram and we’re sure November will be no different. He’s stopped 255 of 291 shots faced so far this season.

Benjamin Di Fiore (.876) 2002 – Glens Falls, NY, USA: Di Fiore is in his second year of junior hockey, having spent the previous season in the NA3HL with the Bay State Bobcats and posting an impressive .918 SV% in 25 games played. He’s carried the bulk of the net action for the Spud Kings so far and we won’t count how often he’s been featured on the @PHHOffical on Twitter / @pigeonhole_hockey on Instagram … but it’s been a lot. He’s stopped 480 of 568 shots faced so far this season.

Carsten Shrimpton (.851) 2003 – West Vancouver, BC, CAN: Shrimpton enters his third year of junior hockey having played not only in the USPHL Premier previously, but the Canadian-based PIJHL and VIJHL as well. Shrimpton saw a lot of action in the early weeks of Spud Kings action and was featured three times on the @PHHOffical on Twitter for September – he did not see a lot of action in October, but we look forward to featuring his saves again soon! He’s stopped 154 of 181 shots faced so far this season.

NORTHERN COLORADO EAGLES

Charles Anthony-Barbeau (.915) 2002 – St-Rémi, QC, CAN: The C.A.B. is in his 3rd year with the NoCo Eagles and was a staple in net for the team the previous season. He’s posted excellent numbers this season including one shutout but has split the time substantially with fellow 02 Quebecer, Roussel. He’d have a highlight this October – but the camera quality in Ogden that game was pretty rough. He’s stopped 151 of 165 shots faced so far this season.

Ulrick Roussel (.919) 2002 – Mont-Tremblant, QC, CAN: Roussel has been mistaken for a bowling pin this season, having been run down Lucic-Miller style in Utah as well as in Pueblo – but fair to say he’d had enough by last weekend’s action at home against Pueblo. He doesn’t seem like the tendy you’d want to make angry, as he seems to play even better…but given his numbers, you wouldn’t like him when he’s angry. He’s shared the net substantially with the aforementioned C.A.B. and has stopped 171 of 186 shots faced this season and has several October saves featured @PHHOffical on Twitter / @pigeonhole_hockey on Instagram.

Evan Stringer (.934) – 2005 – Fort Collins, CO, USA: Stringer is a local Northern Colorado product and is potentially a future masked man piece for the Eagles moving into forward, as the other tendys will age out next season. He’s impressed early on, stopping 114 of 122 shots faced this season.

OGDEN MUSTANGS

Trey Hirschfield (.895) 2002 – Littleton, CO, USA: Hirschfield is in his third season of junior hockey and “second” season with the Mustangs, though he spent the bulk of last season in the NAHL before seeking in-game action, appearing in two regular season games and one playoff game with the Stangs putting up an impressive .921 and .953 respectively. He’s had some absolute beauties featured on the @PHHOffical on Twitter / @pigeonhole_hockey on Instagram in November. He’s stopped 212 of 237 shots so far this season.

Owen Yancey (.946) 2002 – Gilbertsville, PA, USA: Yancey joins the Mustangs for his fourth season of USPHL action, having previously played in the Philadelphia HC U18 & Premier clubs the past three seasons. His play has been impressive and has raised some eyebrows as he’s had some excellent saves featured on the @PHHOffical on Twitter / @pigeonhole_hockey on Instagram in November. He’s stopped 228 of 241 shots so far this season.

PROVO PREDATORS

Landon Palmer (.841) 2003 – Sandy, UT, USA: Palmer played college hockey with Utah Valley University last season but enters his second year of junior hockey with the Provo Predators, having played junior hockey a season before in the NA3HL. He’s had a save featured on the @PHHOffical on Twitter / @pigeonhole_hockey on Instagram in November and has stopped 74 of 88 shots faced so far this season.

Joseph Schaul (.849) 2002 – Norwood, MA, USA: Schaul entered his third year of junior hockey having played previously in the WSHL and last season with the USPHL’s Potomac Patriots, posting a .906 SV% in four games played. He’s seen a bit more action than that of aforementioned Palmer and has stopped 118 of 139 shots so far this season.

Bryson Stern (.895) 2003 – Littleton, CO, USA: Stern joined the Predators this season out of the Colorado Spings Tigers 18U AAA program playing between the 18UAA and NAPHL 18U, posting a .921 and a .908 SV% respectively in 23 games played. He’s carried the bulk of the time in the blue paint so far this season and has some spectacular saves featured on the @PHHOffical on Twitter / @pigeonhole_hockey on Instagram in November. He’s stopped 246 of 275 shots so far this season.

PUEBLO BULLS

Lukas Björk (.909) 2003 – Sweden: Björk is playing in his first season of North American junior hockey, having played junior hockey the past three seasons in Sweden’s IF Sundsvall Hockey program. He’s impressed so far as the primary backup to starter Timmons and has several October saves featured on the @PHHOffical on Twitter / @pigeonhole_hockey on Instagram in November. He’s stopped 170 of 187 shots faced so far this season.

Jack Sundhall (.892) 2003 – Göteborg, SWE: Fellow countryman to Björk, Sundhall joins the Bulls this year out of the Scandinavian nation of Sweden, having played his hockey between Kungälvs IK J20 and Hisingens IK last season. He hasn’t seen a lot of action to date, but has posted a 2-1 record so far, stopping 58 of 65 shots faced this season.

Alexander Timmons (.920) – 2002 – Stillwater, MN, USA: Timmons is in his third year of junior hockey, and his second season with the Bulls – and he’s the bonafide starter in Pueblo this season. He’s been incredibly steady in net stopping 346 of 376 shots faced so far, and has several saves featured on the @PHHOffical on Twitter / @pigeonhole_hockey on Instagram in November. He also had one of the most ridiculous saves of the 2021-2022 season – so we’re big fans!

UTAH OUTLIERS

Nathan Dickey (.929) 2003 – Butler, PA, USA: Dickey is competing in his third season of junior hockey and joins the Outliers after last season bouncing between four teams in the NA3HL, NAHL & NCDC. He’s been quite impressive so far and has nearly evenly split time in net with Felicetti so far in West Valley. He has several October saves featured on the @PHHOffical on Twitter / @pigeonhole_hockey on Instagram in November and has stopped 157 of 169 shots faced so far this season.

Marco Felicetti (.908) – 2003 – Cavalese, ITA: The Italian netminder is in his second full season with the Outliers and was having an amazing 2021-2022 campaign until an injury cut it short. This season he’s picked up where he left off and also already has several October saves featured on the @PHHOffical on Twitter / @pigeonhole_hockey on Instagram in November. He’s stopped 157 of 173 shots faced so far this season.

Lawrence Letey (.950) – 2003 – Salt Lake City, UT, USA: Letey is a local Outliers product, having played in the program’s U14 back in the 2016-2017 season. Since then he’s gained experience in the NAPHL & USHL but returns to West Valley to compete in his hometown organization, though limited time in net, his numbers are stellar. He’s already been featured on the @PHHOffical on Twitter / @pigeonhole_hockey on Instagram in November and we’re looking forward to some more highlights moving forward. He’s had one shutout and has stopped 76 of 80 shots faced so far this season.
