Lincoln Stars Top NHL Prospects

Table of Contents

The Lincoln Stars finished the shortened USHL season in fifth place with the potential to make a deep playoff push. Four of their top performers are eligible for the NHL Draft and have been a “C” rating or better by the NHL Central Scouting Combine.

Zach Urdahl – Left Wing

A product of Wisconsin, Zach will continue to build his roots in his home state when he plays for the University of Wisconsin next year. Ranked as a “B” skater and #144 by the NHL Central Scouting Report for North American Skaters, Zach wasn’t the leading scorer but held his own with 21 points on the season. NHL scouts are excited about Zach’s future and have said he has strong skating abilities and provides a huge upside for NHL teams.

Jacob Bauer – Defense

While he wasn’t the flashiest player last season, Jacob’s playing style is to stay within himself and not try to do too much. He was a top-three defensemen on the Stars and played the most games of all defensemen. He was given a “C” rating by the NHL Central Scouting Combine and has committed to Western Michigan for the 20-21 hockey season. While his height shouldn’t be a problem, he will need to add some muscle in order to make more of an impact at the next level.

Travis Treloar – Center

One of the USHL’s top points leaders was Travis Treloar. Travis scored 14 goals and recorded 35 assists which were good enough for the top ten in assists in the league and top 20 for points scored. The the Stars got Travis, head coach and general manager Cody Chupp had this to say, “bbviously Travis is an extremely skilled player. When we had the opportunity during the [USHL Phase II] draft to make a trade for that first pick, he was a guy that we had a ton of interest in and went after pretty hard. He’s been fantastic for us through the first little over half of a year now.”

Travis was given a very conservative “C” rating and is committed to the Ohio State University next season.

Jake Boltmann – Defense

Jake was one of the youngest players on the Stars roster this past season. Jake split time between the Stars and Edina High School Hornets totaling 22 points. While some scouts are very high on Jake’s potential, some would prefer if he wasn’t drafted so he can get more USHL experience allowing them to get a better report on him.

He currently holds a “C” rating and was ranked #113 by the NHL Central Scouting Report for North American Skaters. He’s a defenseman who wants to be in the middle of the action and possesses leadership qualities many teams would love to have. As a more offensive-minded defenseman, there is a growing attraction in the NHL to these types of players.
