Eastern Hockey League… Arguably The Best

The Best Tier 3 Junior Hockey League In The Nation, Eastern Hockey League

The EHL (Eastern Hockey League) is a tier 3 junior hockey league that has a ton of history. In this last season, they have committed 100+ players to NCAA D1, D2, and D3 programs in the 2016-17 season. That might not seem like a large number compared to the USPHL who has 300+ commits, but when you look at how many teams and players both leagues have.

The EHL has by far committed a higher percentage of their players to a college level. When the math is done the EHL has committed roughly 1/3 of their players to the next level which is incredible.

The reason kids play junior hockey is not only for the experience but to ultimately achieve their goal of playing college hockey at the highest level possible. The EHL has proved itself to be at the top of the leaderboards when it comes to the discussion of which league is best to play in. I don’t believe the EHL gets the attention they deserve, they obviously have a great system and outstanding player development. They have a total of 19 teams ranging from Pennsylvania to New Hampshire.

They are concentrated in the Northeastern part of the United States. They have built this league to not only host great hockey players but also to develop and create the future of College Hockey. If you are a player trying to find a great league, make sure to put the Eastern Hockey League amongst the top of your picks especially if you are looking for the right guidance and development to pursue your college hockey goals.

Creating College hockey players is not all they have done, they have contributed to the development of a number of NHL players including, John Carlson, Rob Scuderi, Chris Kreider, and Jarred Tinordi. The EHL pursues excellence and has the track record to back it up.

About The Eastern Hockey League

Located in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States, the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and its 17 teams celebrate its 9th season in 2021-22. For the past five years, the EHL has finished as the leader in the Direct-To-College Advancement at Division II and III levels. This past season alone, the EHL accounted for nearly 1 in every 5 freshmen on Division II and III rosters.

To go along with the NCAA Commitments, the EHL has also helped over 80 players work their way up the USA Hockey Ladder of Development to the North American Hockey League (NAHL) and the United States Hockey League (USHL). This area of advancement is also not limited to just players, as the EHL has seen a number of coaches make the jump up the ladder as well.

The Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) serves as a sub-division for the Eastern Hockey League (EHL). The EHLP celebrates the start of its 6th season under the EHL this fall, with 12 teams split up between 3 different divisions. While the name has changed a couple of times, the model remains the same; to help players develop and prepare for the next step in their journey.

The EHL’s sub-division has done a great job promoting players up the ranks of junior hockey and is responsible for a number of the league’s NCAA Commitments. Over 150 players have developed at this level and then made their jump up to the EHL. From there, over 95 players have advanced onto college hockey.

With every player comes a different path and next step. Whether it’s college hockey or staying under the USA Hockey umbrella, the EHL and the EHLP provide all of our players with the resources to improve their game and keep climbing in their respective journeys. Every story is different, and we’re ready to help you write the next chapter in yours.
