West Sound Admirals Fold

The Western States Hockey League (WSHL) lost its second 0-19 team in the past week when the West Sound Admirals folded up shop. The Admirals last played on November 24 in a 6-3 home loss to the Bellingham Blazers.

On November 25 the Steamboat Wranglers, who had matched the Admirals with a 0-19 record, ceased operations.

The Admirals, like the Wranglers, were putting 12-13 skaters on the ice each game while racking up a goal differential of -135, or an average of 6.4 goal differential per defeat.

WSHL Commissioner Ron White worked with both teams to facilitate the foldings with the ultimate goal of protecting player safety and the overall competitiveness of future games.

The WSHL website seems to indicate the league schedule has been re-worked in the short-term with the absence of these two organizations.
