Trimble’s Drill of the Week- Oktay 2 v 1
Forwards at the red lines (on each side) and defenseman in the middle- center ice circle.
On the whistle the defenseman will back skate and then pass to the forward on the right, before getting the puck back. Then they pass to the forward on their left (and get the puck back) before the forward on their left begins to swing across the ice in support of the forward on the right. Defenseman now with the puck pass to either forward, swinging toward the right side of the ice, and initiates a 2 on 1 against the far D (who is doing the exact same sequence of passing).
After the pass to start the 2 on 1, the defenseman will then have to close the gap and take a 2 on 1 against the opposite group of forwards who are now attacking on his side of the ice. Watch video to see drill in action.
Great for passing, timing, and 2 on 1s both scoring and defending them.
