Drill of the Week- Stevens 2 v 2
Forwards in the corners and defenseman at the blueline.
On the whistle starts the drill – 1 line of forwards shoot on the near net, 2nd line carries their puck and accellerates through the circles to begin the 2 v2 . Defenseman on the same whistle gaps up around a tire or cone into the offensive zone.
2 v 2 through neutral ice with a focus on good speed and entry habits- middle drive, creating 2 v1s, communication, timing etc.
2 v2 finishes at the far net. 2nd whistle blows, coach at the blueline sends in a puck, which the forward retrieves and starts a LO/HI sequence by passing back to the coach.
Coach walks, forwards attack the net vs Ds and a 2nd 2v2 net front sequence begins.
