Trimble’s Drill of the Week – Transition Game 3 v 3 (or 2 v 2)

Play the game in the Neutral Zone

  • Lines/Teams at diagonal corners of the zone with a coach (with pucks) on the opposite end of the blueline
  • Play the game 3 v3 with one puck in the Neutral Zone
  • Game starts on the whistle from a loose puck
  • If the puck goes out on the blueline the coach stationed at that blueline will introduce a new puck into play by passing to his team only- the team at his blueline end that is attacking the far goal
  • If a goal is scored the coach on the blueline who’s team scored, will introduce a new puck, passing to his team only
  • Game gets exciting when players start to anticipate transition and get open quickly
  • Communicate, play fast and make plays
  • ENJOY
