Trimble’s Drill of the Week – 7 Puck Game
Great game to finish a practice with and reward your team for a good effort with fun.
- Use the resources available to you at the end of practice (2 or 3 nets/ 2 or 3 goalies)
- Divide your players up into groups given the amount of nets or players involved. (3 nets/ goalies= 3 groups. 4 nets = 4 groups etc)
- 7 pucks in a straight line in front of each group
- On the whistle one at a time, players will try to score on a breakaway vs the goalie in their group
- First team to score all 7 pucks wins.
- If you score on your breakaway, puck stays in the net and a new puck is played (no rebound goals).
- If the puck is stopped by the goalie, players must pick up that same puck and pass it back in their line to the next player. You play the same puck until it is scored.
- Make it accountable! Losing teams/ goalies have a result and winning teams get rewarded.
- ENJOY
